Hot to Lukewarm, soon to Cold.
Today, I’m picking up from where I stopped in my last post and talking about the Transition.
You see this looks like eating only on Sundays and expecting it to sustain you the entire week till another Sunday. (No, I’m not talking fasting because, with fasting, you should be feasting on the Word) Yet this is us, eating Spiritual food only on Sundays at church.
This looks like serving when everyone sees you and when no one is watching, you don’t show up.
This looks like putting “Jesus”, “God first”, and a scripture in your bio but not being the Living Jesus that people encounter every day.
This looks like praying always, like Jesus says to, but with “always” meaning only when a personal need arises.
This my friend, looks like you being indifferent with what the Bible clearly calls evil (after all, it’s not affecting you directly right ?)
And this looks like you staying silent on issues you obviously should speak up about because you care what people think.
I consider how selfish we have become. We’ve gotten used to being lukewarm. Shouldn’t we be able to discern someone’s heartbeat if we genuinely love them? Shouldn’t their cares, or lack thereof be ours as well? Have you ever really been bothered by God’s cares? Because, oh, God has cares.
Do you care if the world gets dark by the day? If God’s children are going down the drain? If the gospel is being shared?
*sighs* So to the one who is lukewarm, Please come back to your First love. Please lift His banner, again. Please love Him, again. Please feel His burden, again. Please make his business yours, again. Please let your words match your actions, again. Let this union be lit, again.
The only way my hot water becomes hot again is if I decide to heat it up again. Lukewarm may be on its way to Cold but can be redirected when heated up again.
I pray that the fire of God comes upon you again and you forget what this place of lukewarmness looks like.
How dare darkness stand when, you, God’s Light stands?
Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. Titus 1:16 (NLT)
So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless) and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust] Rev 3:16 (AMP)
This scripture is interesting because it explains how the church in Laodicea was good for nothing because they were lukewarm. Not Hot enough like the waters of Hierapolis and neither Cold enough like the refreshing waters of Colossae.
Abba requires that you be as wise as the serpents and always be On Fire for Him, And when need be, you should be like a cool “refreshing” water.
